Acupuncture originated in China over 2,000 years ago which makes it one of the oldest used medical procedures in the world still in use today. This procedure was introduced in the United States by James Reston, a New York Times report, in 1971 when he wrote an article on the doctors in China using needles to ease the pain of patients after surgery.

Acupuncture is performed with thin solid metallic needles that are placed on along the body in certain areas and are then manipulated by hands or electrical stimulation.

Acupuncture works by applying pressure to certain areas of the body thus relieving individuals of symptoms for a variety of ailments including

    • Migraine headaches
    • Menstrual cramps
    • Tennis elbow
    • Fibromyalgia
    • Myofascial pain
    • Osteoarthritis
    • Low-back pain
    • Carpal tunnel syndrome
    • Asthma
